Sunbeam, the marque for gentlemen between the wars, had a reputation for quality of engineering and construction and this model, manufactured from 1931 to 1934, is no exception. Beautiful lines complement a superb interior including wonderful marquetry to the door cappings and sumptuous leather seats. Wide doors and lots of leg room will be appreciated by brides when stepping out of the car gracefully. Needless to say we call her ‘Dawn’, with her beautiful burgundy and deep ivory paintwork she is much in demand by brides looking for these beautiful British wedding cars. Teamed with our magnificent Daimler Limousine they make a stunning pair of vintage wedding cars.
Cathy: the most popular of our smaller wedding cars.
What a beautiful traditional wedding car 'Rebecca' is a truly fabulous 1962 S2 Bentley very similar to the Rolls Royce Silver Cloud. She has a 6¼ litre V8 engine producing a huge amount of quiet smooth power. Bentley, when asked about the power figure, simply described it as "adequate sir". Many arguments have taken place as to whether the Bentley was more desirable than the Rolls Royce. We tend to accept the explanation that a Rolls Royce says you are wealthy but the Bentley says you are wealthy with class. Wedding cars of such size and lines are ideal for a traditional, stylish ceremony and should be reserved well in advance. Dress room is very important and Rebecca has more than enough.
A 1925 Oakland open sport tourer 'Maude' has been with us forover twenty years and represents the very best of vintage wedding cars. Her wonderful dark blue coach work provides the perfect contrast to a white, cream or ivory wedding dress. Her really large interior helps to ensure the wedding dress arrives at the church in pristine condition. This magnificently restored semi-open Oakland is believed to be the only car of its year and model to survive in the world today. Regrettably Maude's photograph does not do her justice she really has to be seen to be appreciated. Come and see her and try her for size.
She is fully convertible making the Bride look absolutely stunning on a beautiful warm summer's day. She of course has full weather equipment should the day not be as good as expected. Olivia started life in Oshawa Canada as a box of parts and shipped to Sydney in Australia. There she was assembled as a right hand drive car despite being of American/Canadian origin with the body made by Holden. She lived in Australia until 2005 when she was shipped to Munich in Germany, coming to the UK in 2006. Vintage wedding cars like Olivia, being so large, convertible and cream in colour are immensely popular, so early reservation is essential.
